Thanks Jan and everyone else!  I was thrilled that the essence of midwifery was being celebrated.  The woman who wrote the nomination was concise and eloquent in her praise of midwifery skills.  She captured the spirit of one to one midwifery care in about 50 words.  It is all I have strived to achieve over the years.  It is all that midwives can achieve if they are given the right environment.
