Hi Paul

This is just moving a site within the same site collection. I have not
used the content and structure tool as yet but will investigate this.

Thanks for your help.

Regards,

Nathan

Hi Nathan,

When you say "move" the site, do you mean to another location within the
same sitecollection or copying it to another farm?

In the first instance you can use the Content and Structure tool. In the
second, you should quiesce the farm and set sitelock for the collection.

Paul

Nathan,

Also make sure that you test your site migration to a
test environment before importing the site into production to ensure you
have no migration problems.

Hi Nathan,

As an ITIL Best practise, something like this on a production
environment should be done after business hour.

To lessen the risk of issues to production users.

Just a thought. J

Subject: Stsadm export

Hi All

I'm looking at moving a subsite using the import export stsadm commands.

This is in a production environment, if users are working in the site
collection will it affect them from working? Or just the site in
question?

Regards,
