The content databases should be a breeze. I've now done it multiple times to
resolve various issues (aside from migration) and it's a simple matter.

The config databases - Central Admin and SSP - are more problematic and I'd
recommend rebuilding these and any web apps from your build doc. Then just
reattach the migrated content DBs, run a full search and you're on your way.

Hi,

I wanted to point out that SQL 2005 x32 => SQL 2005 x64 Upgrade is indeed
supported.

"The move from 32-bit SQL Server to 64-bit SQL Server is seamless. Both
editions of SQL Server use the same on-disk structures; you simply need to
detach the databases for the 32-bit system, then attach them to the 64-bit
system."

Subject: 32/64 bit SQL Server...issues?
Hey Guys,

So our MOSS 2007 installation is setup on a 64bit Win 2008 R2 host. SQL Server
Express is installed on there.

I want to migrate the databases to our main databases server, SQL 2005....is
this even possible? Or am I going to need to install a 64 bit SQL to port it
to.....

Cheers,

Ken Thompson
