Check the association files (that description is available there) the ReadItem type fields in source BCS Entity.
You need to have "Description" field to be available in ReadItem and in association Michael Nemtsev Microsoft MVP B: http://msmvps.com/blogs/laflour S: http://www.sharepoint-sandbox.com From: ozmoss-boun...@ozmoss.com [mailto:ozmoss-boun...@ozmoss.com] On Behalf Of ken zheng Sent: Wednesday, 4 May 2011 1:48 PM To: ozmoss@ozmoss.com Subject: RE: BCS in SharePoint 2010 that's right. _____ From: nemt...@msn.com To: ozmoss@ozmoss.com Subject: RE: BCS in SharePoint 2010 Date: Wed, 4 May 2011 13:11:12 +1000 Your description and code stored in the same list, and you just want to use different field, right? You need to delete entity and recreated it again. However, the "lookup" fields visibility depends on Association fields you have ticked. Just wonder if I have a product group table and product table. In the product table, there is group code reference to the product group item. Could I create an external list for product but when they edit/add item, they can choose the group description rather than code. Is it out of box or I need to write in code? Anyone has link to the tutorials? cheers Ken _______________________________________________ ozmoss mailing list ozmoss@ozmoss.com http://prdlxvm0001.codify.net/mailman/listinfo/ozmoss _______________________________________________ ozmoss mailing list ozmoss@ozmoss.com http://prdlxvm0001.codify.net/mailman/listinfo/ozmoss _______________________________________________ ozmoss mailing list ozmoss@ozmoss.com http://prdlxvm0001.codify.net/mailman/listinfo/ozmoss
