Today, my company, Timpani Software, is releasing MergeMagician, an automated merging and branch management solution that integrates with TFS and Subversion. In a nutshell, MergeMagician allows you to automate the merge workflow between branches by connecting branches together using publisher/subscriber relationships. Another way to look at it, is that it adds a form of "streams-based" development to TFS. With streams, branches are more useful for agile developers because changes from one branch can automatically flow from one branch to other branches, thereby enabling multi-staged continuous integration. If anyone is familiar with AccuRev, which supports streams-based development, MergeMagician allows you to achieve similar functionality in a more flexible way.
