I'm happy to announce that the Maven Shell (a maven distro surrounded with a shell plus a bunch of goodies) is embedding p2 in order to update itself but also install other applications. You can download it here: http://repo2.maven.org/maven2/org/sonatype/maven/shell/dist/mvnsh-assembly/1.0.1/
