Hi all, I'm chiming in a bit late here, but I see that there is no mention of Bug 332158 [1]. This bug affects many of my users and is a constant cause of confusion for them. Our product ships with a feature patch (for JDT). If a user happens to have unzipped Eclipse into a read-only directory, the install fails and the error message is not informative to the user. Is this bug the kind of thing that you are looking to fix?
I added this bug as blocking Bug 358471 [2], but feel free to make a change if I've been too presumptuous here. thanks, Andrew [1] https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=332158 [2] https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=358471 On Fri, Sep 23, 2011 at 7:00 AM, DJ Houghton <[email protected]> wrote: > As Pascal previously mentioned, we would like to improve the p2 Shared > Install experience in the Juno release.
