I’m happy with two shots. Do I need to write code to change the arch property,

You would have to do this in two calls:
- one that modifies the arch property stored in the profile,
- one that performs the regular director call

If we had implemented these properties as capabilities then this would be 
possible in one shot, but this is quite a change.
