which is maybe not what one might want.
So the most popular item might get replicated to half of the nodes in the
system, right?
The measurement paper by Gummadi et al showed that popularity of files in
filesharing apps are not ZIPF or power-law right? It was not linear on a
log-log scale.

state of
the art in replication. They can turn a O(lg N) overlay like chord or
pastry into an O(1) overlay purely via replication.
