I'm not really the one to argue with about the reason behind the limitation.

also states: 'Also, please make sure that there are no lines in the description
longer than 80 characters.' 

I can't say why it's still required but I would be surprised if nobody has
complained about it. It hasn't changed though. I think with the changes I
suggested below, the lines will be under 80 characters anyways.
