First, for ARP mode to do registration trapping you need a patch. Search
the sourceforge archives or google. It has not been integrated because
of potential legal issues (or so I was told).


Second, when you upgrade some manual steps needs to be performed. Have
you checked the UPGRADE document located in /usr/local/pf/? From 1.8.3
you probably have to upgrade the database schema a few times.
Instructions are provided.

If you did all the necessary steps above, provide a copy of your
violations.conf and the last 20 or so lines of the packetfence.log when
trying to start.
