As a quick fix, would it be difficult to change the person id source
from User-name to Stripped-User-name?

I'll try to look at the backslash problem for our next release. Can you
please open a ticket for it? http://www.packetfence.org/bugs

We've always preferred the user@domain format over the domain\\user
that's why we might have overlooked that problem.
