I was using this document: http://www.packetfence.org/downloads/PacketFence/doc/PacketFence_Administration_Guide-3.6.1.pdf [there are various other versions current around the web which is confusing, but I guess there is not very much you can do about that]
The Fedoraproject elements for Centos6 now exist here: http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/6/ 'download.fedoraproject.org' now bounces to here: ftp://ftp.sucs.org/pub/linux/fedora/ which has a different hierarchy. Also, the 'uname -i' element of the commands would not work - I had to point directly to the correct releases - but that must be owing to issues with my own install of CentOS.
