We have our "MAC_Registration" VLAN (172.22.38.x IP), and "MAC_TEMP" VLAN (no IP) which is configured as our netlogin VLAN. So if I understand this right, the devices sit in "Mac_Temp" when off, then they are booted and go to "MAC_Registration" where they wait for an admin to "Register" them. Once registered, they go back to "MAC_Temp" until a role is assigned, and then the device is moved to the correct VLAN. Is that order progression correct?
I have a PC that was on, turned it off, and then tried to wake it (which failed), so the FDB at 30 minutes wouldn't have aged out there but will definitely be an issue to consider if I can get this working. -----Original Message----- From: Tim DeNike [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, August 08, 2014 10:31 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [PacketFence-users] Wake on LAN with PacketFence (Extreme Network Swtiches) Is the mac_registration subnet being used as the netlogin vlan? Registered devices when off should show the netlogin vlan not the registration vlan in the switch. We don't use wake on LAN. But I can see it not working with radius netlogin because the fdb entry will timeout.
