Hi Luca,

your certificate expired, this is why you have this issue.
To fix it let's do this and you will be ok for 10 years:

openssl req -x509 -new -nodes -days 3650 -batch -out /usr/local/pf/conf/ssl/server.crt -keyout /usr/local/pf/conf/ssl/server.key -nodes -config /usr/local/pf/conf/openssl.cnf cat /usr/local/pf/conf/ssl/server.crt /usr/local/pf/conf/ssl/server.key > /usr/local/pf/conf/ssl/server.pem

Fabrice

Hi Fabrice,
the password inside pfconfig.conf is ok. When I restart PF the output on the console says:

/[root@srv-nac-01 pf]# service packetfence start
Starting PacketFence...Set name-type for VLAN subsystem. Should be visible in /proc/net/vlan/config
service|command
memcached|start
httpd: Could not reliably determine the server's fully qualified domain name, using 127.0.0.1 for ServerName
httpd.admin|start

FATAL - The certificate used by FreeRADIUS (/usr/local/pf/conf/ssl/server.crt) has expired. Regenerate a new self-signed certificate or update your current certificate./

Attached you can find the log file. When pf has started many services are stopped, if I try to start dhcpd daemon from the web gui my log file says:

/Jul 15 11:46:14 pfcmd.pl(13470) INFO: pidof -x memcached returned 13409 (pf::services::manager::pidFromFile) Jul 15 11:46:14 pfcmd.pl(13470) INFO: verifying process 13409 (pf::services::manager::removeStalePid) Jul 15 11:46:14 pfcmd.pl(13470) INFO: pidof -x memcached returned 13409 (pf::services::manager::pidFromFile) Jul 15 11:46:14 pfcmd.pl(13470) INFO: pidof -x memcached returned 13409 (pf::services::manager::pidFromFile) Jul 15 11:46:14 pfcmd.pl(13470) INFO: pidof -x httpd.admin returned 13425 (pf::services::manager::pidFromFile) Jul 15 11:46:14 pfcmd.pl(13470) INFO: verifying process 13425 (pf::services::manager::removeStalePid) Jul 15 11:46:14 pfcmd.pl(13470) INFO: pidof -x httpd.admin returned 13425 (pf::services::manager::pidFromFile) Jul 15 11:46:14 pfcmd.pl(13470) INFO: pidof -x httpd.admin returned 13425 (pf::services::manager::pidFromFile)

/Obviously the system is not working and my guest network is unusable.

Many thanks

Luca

Subject: Re: [PacketFence-users] Issues after upgrade to 5.2.0

Hi Luca,

we need logs.

On one side let's do service packetfence start and on the other side tail -f /usr/local/pf/logs/packetfence.log and paste the log on the mailling list. Also did you checked pf.config.conf to see if the db user/password is correct ?
Did you restart pfconfig?

Fabrice

    Hi all,
I've just upgraded my PF install to the last release 5.2.0 on
CentOS 6.6 without any problem reading this document
    https://github.com/inverse-inc/packetfence/blob/stable/UPGRADE.asciidoc
as I do everytime. But this time I have a lot of problem, and the
system doesn't work anymore. Many services are stopped and it's
impossible to start them as you can see on the screenshot
attached. I tried to start dhcp but it doesn't and I can't see any
error in the log file. On the dashboard I can't see any graph but
this is a minor issue. Can you help me? I don't know what to check.

    Thanks

    Luca
