I did some more checking after I posted but I didn't have time to post to the list so here is an update. I check the pfdhcplistener log and found lots of entries like this: "The listener process is on the same server as the DHCP server." I checked my routed networks and my registration network was listed there so I removed it. This allowed my mac to be seen by the server and the error went away, but now the server will not respond to DNS queries. So where I am now is if I have the registration network listed under my routed networks the server ignores my DHCP updates but responds to DNS queries, whereas if the network is NOT present the server accepts the DHCP updates but will not respond to DNS. We are using our own DHCP server so I have the PF dhcp server disabled (admin GUI -> configuration -> services -> dhcpd (unchecked). Any guidance would be appreciated.
