Ubiquiti APs (UAP,UAC,UAC-PRO, Lite, etc….) has several limitations in their
communication with RADIUS systems.

For example, they can’t understand some RADIUS attributes for limit bandwith or
assign specific IP address to a customer.

But Ubiquiti works fine with the basic 802.11x protocol.

Asked to Ubiquiti forums, some employees answered with a laconic “It’s not one
of our priorities”…..

Maybe, with the introduction of US-XX and ES-XX switches, they improve their
capacities.

We must to test again.

Hello Fabrice,

I understand that it supposed to work, but i can find no documentation on what
the settings need to be in packetfence to make it work.

Do you know what the settings should be? I assume it is something under where
you add the AP in packetfence.

Hello everyone,

I am still looking for direction on how to setup Packetfence to interface with
Ubiquiti Access Points. If anyone knows what the settings need to be and could
share those I would appreciate that.

At this point:

    - RADIUS works.

    - When my user signs in they are routed to my registration VLAN.

    - The Captive Portal loads, they sign in again (at least on a pc, mobile
isn't launching the portal, but that is something i'll look into when the login
process is actually working).

    - The system recognizes that they need to be switched to a different VLAN.

    - System fails to switch them to the appropriate VLAN. They just sit in
the registration VLAN.
