Thank you for your answer, it works!

However, I only get the email the first time a node is seen in PacketFence.
Once the node is registered, I don't get a new mail if it gets the role again
which should trigger the mail sending.

Do you have any ideas?

Thanks a lot.

Hello Marie-Cécile,

Actually, it’s my bad, I switch up the action.

From:

[cid:DD9B313E-3512-47CD-BCBE-9B54C61F94A0]

To:

mac = $mac, tid = MyRole, type = CUSTOM

Where MyRole is your Custom event name in the Security event.

Thanks,

Hello,

However, it doesn't seem to be working at the moment.
I tested SNMP in "alarms" and the test mail works.
But when a node gets the role Vlan_1, nothing happens. Is there a file where I
can find logs? What did I do wrong?

Thank you for your answer.

Hello,

Assuming you are using PacketFence v10.2.

Create a VLAN filter like this:

Then create a security event like this:

Keep in mind that security events are primarily triggered by DHCP and RADIUS
requests. I will advise you strongly to install the DHCP sensor if your
production DHCP server is a Windows DHCP server:

Hello,

I'm trying to create a custom security event that would send an email to
someone when a node get a created role 'X'.

The fact is that nothing is happening.

I don't know where my mistake is.

Can you please give me the process to realize that ?

Thank you very much.
