Hello David, To solve this issue, I suggest we focus on a simple use case like a user doing Mac authentication which try to register a device on captive portal. You can easily test using "Preview" on one of your connection profile from web admin: it will try to register a test device.
Could you try to register on captive portal with an AD account which is **not** present in `person` table ? Then provide packetfence.log during registration process.
