See http://forums.opensuse.org/applications/396805-mplayer-libschroedinger-1-0-so-0-issue.html.
libschroedinger 1.0.5 requires liboil >= 0.3.13 but the Packman package doesn't specifies this. This isn't a problem in openSUSE 11.0 since the lowest available version is 0.3.14, but 10.3 comes with liboil 0.3.9. Since the libschroedinger package doesn't explicitly require liboil >= 0.3.13 the problem seen in the forum can easily happen (specially with people that has problems with/don't understand Videolan vs Packman packages). Also note that liboil0 package from Packman (liboil0-0.3.15-0.pm.1 for openSUSE 10.3) provides "liboil = 0.3.12". Is this normal? Should not provide "liboil = 0.3.15"? Right now liboil Packman package could not provide "liboil >= 0.3.13" and libschroedinger should require "liboil0 >= 0.3.13" to have compatibility with the Packman liboil package. Note that following openSUSE packages interpretation of Shared Library Packaging Policy* liboil package name should be "liboil-0_3-0" and not "liboil0". * See libschroedinger-1_0-0, libjingle-0_3-0, libgtksourceview-2_0-0, libgtk-vnc-1_0-0, libgthread-2_0-0, libgstreamer-0_10-0, libgstinterfaces-0_10-0, libgstapp-0_10-0, libgobject-2_0-0, libgmodule-2_0-0, libglib-2_0-0, libgio-2_0-0, libgda-xslt-3_0-0, libcppunit-1_12-0, libatk-1_0-0 and gstreamer-0_10-libschroedinger-1_0-0. _______________________________________________ Packman mailing list [email protected] http://212.112.227.138/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/packman
