the answer is in the error-message:
"Maybe you're using the wrong version of Java?
FrostWire is tested against and works best with with Sun's JRE, Java 1.4+"

==> you need Sun-Java.

you can install the java-1_6_0-sun packages in coexistence with the openjdk, 
but you need to switch beetween the versions with 
update-alternatives --config java and select the sun version.
