At least it was able to use it in the past AFAIK (the package itself didn't contain any ffmpeg support), and the chromium-ffmpeg-extra changelog refers to it: Sat Mar 24 00:09:38 UTC 2018 - [email protected] - Make symlink to allow Opera find libffmpeg.so. I don't know about the current status though.
