Hi there, I normally use HandBrake to convert AV recordings from my Dreambox into a format to keep on my local server. Doing this on Leap 15.3 produces a video which can be seen, and it also produces audio channels which are shown normally using e.g. "mpv" - however, the audio is not hearable, it's just silent.
Trying to playback that file using "vlc" then shows: $ vlc S01E05.D\303nnes\ Eis.mkv VLC media player 3.0.13 Vetinari (revision 3.0.12.1-158-g6977abc430) [0000555864925f90] main libvlc: Running vlc with the default interface. Use 'cvlc' to use vlc without interface. [0000555864a09f30] main audio output error: too low audio sample frequency (0) [00007fc0ccd0de10] main decoder error: failed to create audio output [00007fc0b4007020] gl gl: Initialized libplacebo v2.43.1 libva info: VA-API version 1.10.0 libva info: User environment variable requested driver 'iHD' libva info: Trying to open /usr/lib64/dri/iHD_drv_video.so libva info: Found init function __vaDriverInit_1_10 libva info: va_openDriver() returns 0 [00007fc0ccc35ee0] avcodec decoder: Using Intel iHD driver for Intel(R) Gen Graphics - 20.3.0 () for hardware decoding Note the "main audio output error: too low audio sample frequency"! I guess this is the reason why there is no audio. Trying to play back the same file on Leap 15.2 does not change anything, so the issue is caused on the conversion side, i.e. on Leap 15.3. Using the same preset on Leap 15.2 I get a fully functional video with hearable sound! AFAICS, the main difference between Leap 15.2 and 15.3 is ffmpeg-4.2 vs. ffmpeg-4.4. Did anybody see similar issues on Leap 15.3? Or, is anybody able to create working audio streams using ffmpeg-4.4 based AV tools? TIA, cheers. l8er manfred
