Hi there, we currently have version 1.5.1 of HandBrake in our Multimedia project. Looking at the upstream website <https://handbrake.fr/> shows, we're pretty far behind.
Hans-Peter Jansen, being one of three maintainers of this package, sent a request to bring the package to version 1.6.0 over one year ago; that request raised some comments/questions to which he never responded. I as a user of that package thought to look into how difficult it would be to upgrade to the latest upstream version 1.9.0, and found out it isn't actually very difficult. That's why I approached the three maintainers Hans-Peter Jansen David Haller Pascal Leser 10 days ago via direct e-mail to review my request and comment on it. All three people are long time maintainers and users both in SUSE Linux and here at Packman. I did not receive any response, hence I thought to ask for feedback here. If you are interested in a new version of HandBrake, please give the packages at <https://pmbs.links2linux.org/package/show/home:manfred-h/handbrake> a chance and download and test them on your system. If project maintainers for the Multimedia project read this and would like to review the SR, please do so: <https://pmbs.links2linux.org/request/show/6239> If the package maintainers are still active, please do so, too! TIA, cheers. l8er manfred
