Hallo!
I installed the RPM package "iscan-plugin", which is available on
Packman (version 2.30.4) on the latest openSuse Tumbleweed.
I think there is an issue with this package, because I could not make my
Epson Perfection V200 scanner work using this package despite the fact
that the package features the necessary plugin.
I assume the problem is the missing postinstall script which registers
the plugins with the iscan-registry. See here for an example:
jstrebel@linux:~> rpm -qp --scripts
"/home/jstrebel/software/iscan-gt-f670-bundle-2.30.4.x64.rpm/plugins/iscan-plugin-gt-f670-2.1.3-1.x86_64.rpm"
postinstall scriptlet (using /bin/sh): iscan-registry --add interpreter
usb 0x04b8 0x012e \ /usr/lib64/iscan/libesint7A \
/usr/share/iscan/esfw7A.bin preuninstall scriptlet (using /bin/sh):
iscan-registry --remove interpreter usb 0x04b8 0x012e \
/usr/lib64/iscan/libesint7A \ /usr/share/iscan/esfw7A.bin
postuninstall scriptlet (using /bin/sh): rmdir /usr/share/iscan 2>
/dev/null || true rmdir /usr/lib64/iscan 2> /dev/null || truePlease add
the scripts to the iscan packages; otherwise, scanners in need of
plugins or firmware simply won't work.
Regards
J. Strebel
