Eu li em algum lugar que a palm liberou um update de SO que corrige a
falha do IR no Z22.
Isso é verdade?
Alguem sabe onde posso fazer o download desse update?

Para aqueles que desconhecem a falha que estou comentando, na seguinte
página tem toda a descrição técnica dela:

Many of you are probably aware of the Raw Ir/OMAP debacle from the not to
distant past.... I've run into another IrDA oddity and want to see if
anyone can corraborate my findings:

I am developing an application which communicates with a Microchip 2150
protocol chip....

Here comes the zire 22, a perfect device for our application- simple,
color, cheap, inexpensive. It is capable of both ircomm and raw ir, which
is a welcome homecoming of sorts.... however, here is my observation:

IrDA begins handshaking at 9600 baud and then when it determines that the
other device is capable of a higher speed, it switches to that speed. Most
often, that speed is 115200, the top end of SIR speeds.

The Zire22 happily negotiates at 9600 and then, when switching to 115200,
communication "ceases". I have traced this problem to determine that the
2150 does not see the 115200 traffic from the zire22. The 2150 waits a
few seconds, determines that the Palm has gone away and then disconnects.
The palm meanwhile is basically doing the same thing... telling the 2150
that it is ready to communicate by sending a number of RR (Receive Ready)
frames. The problem is, the 2150 doesn't see those RR frames....

I have taken some traces with a logic analyzer and determined that the
pulses created on the zire22 at 115200 appear faulty. Interestingly,
running the zire22 in raw ir mode at 115200 creates nice, clean pulses.
What irony!

My theory is that the IrLibrary implementation on the zire22 is generating
faulty pulses, but the hardware itself is fine... implying that a patch to
the irLibrary could solve this problem.

Furthering this theory is that I see the same malformed pulses when using
SrmOpen('ircm'..) or IrOpen( ..) and initiating a connection, etc. .....

Beyond that, anyone from PalmSource/PalmOne who is in a position to
comment, that would be welcome as well. The zire22 is so new that I have
not been able to pick up any issues reported.

thanks for any insights.
