How to hide a obect by program?

hi all,
        I want to show a bitmap, but the bitmap has 5 states. so I need to
create 5 bitmaps put in the same location and show only 1 bitmap in a time
depends on condition. is there other way to do  the same thing or how can
I hide the objects by program ?
