In real life yes, but the point of this little exercise is really to figure out the user interface issues of doing potentially blocking data validation while preserving the good Palm user experience. So to more tightly focus the scenario, let's say I've just learned the conduit and back end server is written in Microsoft Visual COBOL by programmers in our Belgrade office, but their source code was just accidentally deleted by a laser guided bomb.
