Don't know if anyone else has noted this previously, but for those of you
who, like us, have desktop application code that accesses databases created
by the default conduit:
The MacPac beta changed the naming convention that had previously been
used. The
database backup file for a product named "AppName", for example, was backed up
as "AppName_database.PDB" under version 1, the same as it was (and is)
under all versions of the Windows desktop software. Under version 2 beta,
it was backed up using a different name ("AppName database", as I
recall). 3Com assured us that the final release would return to the Windows
naming convension, but it didn't. Instead, it implemented yet another
different convention. Our hypothetical product is now backed up as "AppNam
database.PDB" (no underscore).
Something to be aware of when you start getting those "I installed the new
MacPac and now your product doesn't work" calls....
