Don't feel bad, I'm getting confused by the responses to your email
too. My experience has been the same as yours:
I can use floats and doubles without NewFloatMgr.h.
I can use MathLib without NewFloatMgr.h.

I have a large app that uses floating point extensively, including
floating arithmetic (the standard C operators for addition, subtraction,
multiplication and division), and MathLib for trig functions, logs,
sqrt, etc. I do *NOT* include NewFloatMgr.h anywhere in my app, in any
source file. As far as I can tell, MathLib also does *NOT* include
NewFloatMgr.h in any of its sources. My app runs fine, on POSE and on
the device, compiled with gcc.

So my belief is, NewFloatMgr.h is not necessary. If someone wants to
convince me otherwise, you'll need to explain why my app works without
it.
