To expound, Hacks can only run AFTER hackmaster has displayed the reinstall dialog and you click 'yes'. I don't know when system patches are inserted, but these are from palm and shouldn't affect things. If your memory is corrupted (low batter, whatever), it would cause a crash a warm reset wouldn't fix.
