Hello -- I am reading mail that accumulated while
I was on vacation. The whole "gcc vs. anything else"
thread was rather interesting. I figure I'll put
my $.02 in, but it's not worth sending to the list
as a whole.

Two main points:
* A GUI form development tool is a Good Thing(tm).
* An editable ascii form resource format is a Good Thing(tm).

If the tool works directly with the final "compiled"
resource file, or it works with a proprietary binary
intermediate file, it is a Bad Thing(tm).

The GUI form development tool should create
an editable ascii file which in turn gets compiled
in much the way that .c source gets compiled.

Whether the ascii format should be compatible with
the PilRC format (plus extensions where needed), I
leave to others to determine (but it would be nice...)
