Hmm.  I have nothing against Backup Buddy, but I don't understand the
"problem" here.  Even without Backup Buddy, setting the backup bit for a
database will cause it to be backed up (i.e. a .pdb file will be created on
the desktop), whether or not the database has its own conduit, and whether
or not that conduit does anything during HotSync processing.  The backup bit
can be set by your application on the handheld.  The only down side to this
is time, especially if the database is large: having a conduit process a
database and then having a backup copy created means the database will be
read through twice.
