It's the calcChr key event. Likewise, the four "tactile" application keys generate
hard1Chr, hard2Chr, hard3Chr, and hard4Chr key events. Note also that the command key
bit in the modifiers field of the event record is set. None of this is specific to the
Japanese Workpad.
