It wasn't my intent to start a religious war. It is not the first time people on the list are afraid to discuss something because they think it is a religious war. I already said this once, but repeating isn't harmful: even religious wars produce some kind of information. Don't be so jumpy... VC++ may be or not a good programming environment. I don't think it is, but it doesn't matter for what I'm trying to prove. Nothing in the design of the CDK forces Palm to go for a VC++ tied solution. CDK should allow programmers to choose between different programming tools. Because of price, if not for anything else. VC++ can hardly be seen as a cheap tool. Some developers get VC++ via their companies (this is my case), but a lot of Palm developers are hobbyists, who may not afford or may not want to spend that kind of money.
