Serial Port Usage

I have a very simple application where I need to read data
coming in over a 2 wire serial (RS-232) bus.  

This in one-way data only.  I only have to receive.

The data is coming in at 19.2K.

Can the palm handle this speed?  

Is there a simple application  that demonstrates how this can be
handled.
