Using Nokia 8810

Hello:

A friend of mine has a Nokia 8810 (GSM:
http://www.nokia.com/press/magazines/discovery/vol47/page41.html) phone.
Has anyone tried using this phone (or any GSM phone for that matter) to
connect to a Palm and to make a data connection?  It'd be pretty cool if I
can somehow connect it to a Palm and send data across.  Note that I'll be
trying it out in India.
