You are correct about their being other carriers as long as they supprt the cdma 
network etc.  However in our Area SLC, Utah, only
Sprint provided the service for the pdq. Hopefully that (choices of networks here) 
will expand soon, and we'll re-evalutate.
Umm, about telstreet.com...
I received all the additional components 2 months after ordering, and dozens of phone 
calls and emails later.  Apparently their
system still has a lot of bugs to be worked out.  I'd recommend, that you may want to 
spend the extra money to get it somewhere
locally, or from the source itself (if you can). Until they work out their issues too. 
once they do, their pricing is grewat, and
they have at least very polite customer server reps.
