I need to connect to a device that user serial communications directly, over an IrDA port, but not IrComm. These are existing devices that must be set with a serial connection and our client wishes to use a palm for the connection. The current procedure is to use an IR port of a portable PC, (SIR). Setting my palm to sysFileVirtIrComm and sending over an x results in 100+ characters on the laptop(None of them x of course). Setting my palm to serPortIrPort and opening it results in the ascii character 255 (FF) on the laptop. Sending over characters does not work however. What other ways do I have of configuring the IR port of the palm? I'm willing to use hacks and try out what settings there are, but don't know where to start ...
