Several possible answers here, starting with "use the Conduit API DLLs and
functions".
If you do not want to, I would suggest that you use the simple installator
available at http://www.beiks.com/palmzonebg/catapult.htm
Catapult does analyse the DAT file, but this is risky as Palm could change
the format or event completely get rid of the DAT file in the future
versions.
