I think the interim discussion is actually useful. Initial answers to questions on this list are often incomplete or require further explanation on related matters. (Remember, alot of the people who are ANSWERING questions are also regular developers who might be asking in a different situation.) For readers with similar questions, the discussion itself should also be useful - rather than a digest that might have missed some sidepoint that could prove useful in similar but different situations.
