Thanks for your response Jeff.

No, I don't see a menu icon at all! Do I have to put in a MenuHandlEvent
implementation before the menu becomes visible? This seems unlikely though,
since at this point in time all I want is for a menu to appear on the screen
(sans specific functionality).

If you can still make sense of all this, I'd appreciate your feedback.
