Try restructuring it with a SerSendWait, which should wait until the
serial buffer empties out completely. Then you can handle the special
characters with a SerSend. Also, calibrate your baud rates in both
units to 9600 if you can...sometimes if you crank them down a bit to 96k,
your device can communicate better. Lastly, try a program called
SimpleTerm,
which will allow you to send raw data back and forth in order to test
your serial device/cable/connector/whatever, as well as your data flow.
