This is a bug where while debugging, if you open the register window, your
machine will crash. We are working on a fix for this (I've been testing it
a lot lately), but I don't think its affecting you since you aren't
successfully debugging yet.

I'll see if I can find a Win2K SP1 machine and test this out -- can you
debug to a device? Which version of POSE are you debugging with? Have you
tried the 3.0a7?
