I am developing a custom Palm device for a commercial application.
In our application, it is critical that the HotSync operation only be
performed with an authorized computer. Therefore, we are considering a
digital signature/certificate. At the start of synchronization, the PC sends
a digital signature to the Palm. If the signature is correct the HotSync is
allowed to continue.
Is it possible to replace HotSync with another application and just use the
underlying conduit DLL's?
Any other possibilities to prevent unauthorized HotSync's?
