I'd mentioned all this in a previous discussion, but since I also have a P3/800 with 
W98SE, the coincidence was too much to resist.
:)

First question - are you using CodeWarrior 7?

I've found that it always creashes if you try to use the debug console at the wrong 
times.

The only time I've found so far that you can use the debug console without crashing is 
this:

-> You start a debug run and your process is running (not stopped)
-> The emulator gets an error that pulls up a dialog
-> You choose the "debug" option.
-> Now, open the debug window
-> Execute hd 0
