The flaming only occasionally pops up... this group has an interesting
psychology which tolerates some questions, but gets really irritated by
a few others.
1) We don't like problems labelled "urgent". This was talked about in
detail a couple of months ago, and I won't reopen it further.
2) We prefer well-specified problems with limited scope. Problems with
not enough detail to diagnose the problem are ignored.
3) We're a little dogmatic on some parts of the Palm philosophy,
especially things like not having an "Exit" button or menu.
4) Occasionally, we get a little snippy about referring to the archives
or the FAQs as a defense mechanism to get more people to use these to
answer questions first.
5) We really prefer people to do their background work first, and if
they post and later find a solution, they get big points by posting back
about how they solved their problem, so people reading now and in the
future can get help on similar questions.
I'm happy these flames don't pop-up more often, and I think a lot of
serious discussion and exploration of PalmOS happens here, which is why
I keep contributing.
