I'm trying to understand how/why one might use WinSetDrawWindow().
I'm on a Visor Prism (3.5.2H1), if that makes any difference.
I draw my full-screen form initially in the proper fashion.
I create a new window on-screen using WinCreateWindow().
I pass the resultant WinHandle to WinSetDrawWindow().
I draw and I draw and I draw and nothing happens.
This is apparently because the window is not "enabled". Its enabled bit is 0.
So just for grins I call WinSetActiveWindow(), and I can indeed draw into
the window.
But the supposed primary purpose of WinSetActiveWindow() is to direct user
events (i.e., focus) to the window. The fact that it sets the draw window
is an afterthought.
I don't want to direct focus to the window. I want to draw in the window.
I want focus to remain in a different window while I am drawing. Like this:
WinSetActiveWindow(winA);
WinSetDrawWindow(winB);
<draw a lot in B while focus remains in A>
I am obviously once again missing some important piece of Palm gestalt.
I'll save the rant about the WinHandle visible bit *always* being 0 for
another time.
