Thanks for the info.
Believe it or not I tried both suggestion (individually and at the same
time) and I still get the same problem. And it's still relieved by
commenting out the lines of code in my original email.
Any other suggestions?

Disassemble your source code and you'll find that the string "testApp" is
not within your code segment, but rather is within a global data segment.
Accessing this global data segment is not allowed during a global Find
operation (because the find function is not allowed to access global
variables -- it's not the app's A5).
Try adding const to the string and/or selecting the option in CodeWarrior to
put strings in your code segments (i.e. don't pool strings).
