Thank you for the explanation. Having never used Constructor+PalmRez in
earnest, I was unsure whether the separate ID ranges were merely a default
in the UI or really a hard limitation, and I didn't want to get flamed by
Vivek for making false accusations. :-)

Actually I don't think it's so very terrible -- there's certainly other
things about CW that annoy me more! :-) And you're quite right that
it's understandable.
My point was more about misinformation and faulty assumptions.
For CW-using Palm OS programmers who grew up on Macs, this may well be
second nature and they may be used to having to think and code a little
inefficiently to avoid the problem.
However, not all Palm OS programmers fall into that category. There are
many Palm OS programmers who are neither accustomed to this nor using
tools with this limitation. It does those programmers a disservice to
teach them faulty folklore or to make them work harder than they need to.
